In the footage, shared to TikTok by an account called Goldenindiejoe, we can see a dog in the bathroom next to a youngster who is sitting in a supportive chair.

The adorable dog then reaches out to gently pet the little girl’s hand, as the overlaying text reads: “Indie is new to our family but he treats our special needs daughter so gentle.”

Indie can then be seen softly pawing at the girl’s hand, before he rests his front leg on top of it.

The animal then nuzzles her hand and licks it gently to show affection.

The text explains: “She is 4 and has a genetic disorder, but loves dogs. We all love this boy so much and he is the best dog.”

The adorable clip has gained lots of traction online since it was posted on October 22, having received more than 937,000 likes.

Additionally, more than 4,800 people have headed to the comments section to share their opinions on the sweet moment.

One TikToker, Cay, wrote from the dog’s perspective: “Let me show you how I want to pet tiny human. Now you pet me.”

Another person, Jen, added: “He looks like he is trying to show her how to pet him. So gentle. They are going to have an amazing friendship.”
