According to the American Kennel Club, (AKC), golden retrievers are used for everything from hunting and tracking to rescue and service dog work. They are also used as therapy dogs to soothe and calm people.
Golden retrievers are known for eating just about anything, from dinner to toys, paper and crayons, but they also tend to over-eat, so owners are advised to keep an eye on portions.
All retrievers are known for their soft mouths. The AKC says that their mouths are so soft, they can carry a raw egg in it without cracking the shell.
They are very affectionate with families and great with children, as well as easy to train and adapt. Originally from Scotland, they are the third-most-popular dog in the United States, coming after Labrador retrievers, which have kept first place for over 30 years, and French bulldogs, which have just ascended to second place.
Most users who commented on the video loved the dog’s sweet way of waking up his owner, while others shared memories of their own dogs.
