Twelve Englishmen currently occupy a place in the top 100 of the world rankings, led by former U.S. Open champion Justin Rose at number 12, the in-form Tommy Fleetwood at 14 and the Arizona-based Paul Casey at 16. Tyrrell Hatton has made rapid recent progress and occupies 23rd spot while Matthew Fitzpatrick is 38th, last year’s U.S. Masters winner Danny Willett is 40th and Ross Fisher 46th. Luke Donald (90) failed to qualify but Lee Westwood (57), Chris Wood (63), Andy Sullivan (70) and Ian Poulter (85) go into the third major championship of the year trying to become the first English winner of the Open since Nick Faldo in 1992....

Nearly 40 models and photographers gathered Saturday, The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports. The event was at the former site of Marion Oaks Golf Course in Marion Township, about 45 miles northwest of Detroit. Organizer Rebecca Tremble says Lansing Exposure Group Shoot seeks to help up-and-coming models network with photographers. The group says it got the OK from the property's owner. Howell-area resident Roland Tomlin learned of the shoot and asked in an email to the newspaper about whether the township knew what was going on at the property....

With the 2017 calendar golf season fast-approaching, Golf Channel will air a Tiger Woods marathon featuring all 14 of his major championship wins. MORE: Team golf returning to PGA Tour Starting at 7 a.m. ET, fans can watch Woods win the 1999 PGA Championship. The event will end 14 hours later with the 2005 Masters. Woods made his return to competitive golf at the beginning of the month when he participated in the Hero World Classic....

A few hours earlier, Freitas hit his first major league home run on the way to catching a shutout for Seattle in a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. “If you look at my past career in the minor leagues, maybe six or seven years in the minor leagues to get my first call-up (in 2017), I came a long way since 2010,” said Freitas, who reached base three times for the first time in his career....

Dhoni, however, believes that all the teams participating in the Champions League have a fair amount of chance. “As the teams who played in IPL, we know the conditions well. What we have to rely on is whether there is dew or no dew. All those things come into the scene. Indian sides have very good chance but you have to be at your best on a particular day. Although he won't be back this season, we now at least have good news on Sager's condition. His son, Craig Jr., tweeted some updates on his father's treatment Tuesday evening. Everybody involved in the sports community, including Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, wishes Sager a speedy recovery. As Craig Jr. stated, this is a great step. 

Niko Goodrum homered twice and drove in five runs, and Detroit beat Carlos Carrasco and the Cleveland Indians 6-3 on Monday night. It was the second straight day the Tigers won despite fielding a patchwork lineup. Detroit faced James Paxton and Seattle on Sunday and won that game in the bottom of the ninth. Then the Tigers made Carrasco’s outing difficult. “Everyone comes out here and competes. Whoever’s on the mound has to throw the ball over the plate,” Goodrum said....

Managing director, Search Partnerships at Google, Tim Palmer says that Wikipedia is a unique and valuable resource that is created freely for the world that too by its dedicated volunteer community. They have always supported Wikimedia Foundation in pursuit of their shared goals to expand knowledge and info access for people around the globe....

In an announcement Google’s Senior Vice President of Devices & Services Rick Osterloh said the acquisition was to further the company’s step into ambient computing, where “technology fades into the background”. While its unclear if Google will definitely pursue smart glasses tech, it seems likely given North’s Focals 1.0 range ( review from YouTube’s Mr Mobile here) were smart glasses that gave AR-style information to the wearer. Information like notifications, directions, and calendar appointments sprung up in eyeline and were controllable by a small joystick on a ring worn on an index finger....

So, for all Chrome users, Google at present, is testing a new ‘Quick Intensive Throttling’ feature that will reduce CPU time by 10 percent. This feature will extend the battery life of mobile devices and laptops. Users who are in a habit of opening a lot of tabs across all devices, will be benefited from this feature. Google has introduced the latest feature known as ‘Intensive Wake Up Throttling’ in Chrome 87....

The closure of Stadia, which was made public late last year, caught many people off guard and caused a great deal of dissatisfaction. Stadia has never been a huge hit with gamers, as it was plagued by a myriad of problems, such as connection issues, weak marketing, and a lack of AAA games. Those issues, coupled with poor sales, caused Google to officially pull the plug on its creation....

Godin reportedly hurt his thigh during training and the defender is not in Diego Simeone’s squad for Saturday’s game at the Wanda Metropolitano. Atletico are seven points behind Barcelona in the LaLiga table, with Godin’s injury potentially a blow to their hopes of catching the defending champions. It is unclear whether or not Godin, who has been linked with joining Inter at the end of the season, will be ready to face Serie A champions Juve....

Dylan Hernandez, 19, was taken to hospital early on Thursday morning after university police were called to a residence hall in the 6100 block of Montezuma Road in San Diego, California. He died at Alvarado Hospital on Friday after being found “pulseless and apneic” by his roommate, according to a report by the San Diego County Department of the Medical Examiner. A cause of death was not given. The GoFundMe page set up Carly Bernardo, a friend of the Hernandez family, was set up on Monday....

It periodically reappears, especially at times when the white majority seems uninterested in racial progress.
